Masanya dah tiba untuk review buku ni.

Saya tiba-tiba rasa kena beli buku. Saya memang macam ni...kalau dalam sebulan dua tak beli buku (novel) baru...mesti rasa ada yang tak kena. Tapi nak ke Amcorp Mall dah jauh dah sekarang ni banding dengan dulu. Sejak jalan sekitar PJ dah jadi sehala dan dah tukar-tukar halanya, perjalanan dari ofis saya ke Amcorp Mall dah jadi susah. Nak dapat teksi ke sana pun susah. Kalau dapat teksi pun kena lalu Federal yang pasti la akan melambatkan masa perjalanan. Naik kereta sendiri memang tak la...parking fee kat Amcorp mahal gila kot...tak berbaloi. Jadi saya selalu pilih untuk jalan kaki kalau rajin dan kalau hari Jumaat lah. 

Tapi...sekarang pun dah malas jalan kaki sebab kawan nak jalan kaki pun dah takde...(sobss)...dulu selalu jalan dengan Kak Mimi..yang sekarang dah bersara pilihan. Huk huk..

Tiba-tiba tergerak hati nak buka website BookXcess. Saje nak browse-browse tajuk apa yang terbaru dulu sebelum membuat perjalanan kaki. Ehh..rupa-rupanya dah boleh beli online? Wah! Ini sangat best! So saya pun belek-belek dan pilih buku mana yang berkenan.

Rambang mata tu perkara biasa. Tu pasal kalau pergi ke kedai tu sendiri...lenguh kaki berdiri ni sebab membelek dan nak pilih pun susah...sebab semua murah! Hihi...Ikutkan tamak haloba memang nak beli 10 buah buku sekaligus. tapi sebab masa tu belum gaji...so terpaksa la limitkan pada 2 je.

Akhirnya saya memilih untuk tidak membeli buku Khaled Hosseini. Huwaaa...sebenarnya susah juga nak buat keputusan. Tak apa bulan depan lah beli..hihi..

So...kenapa pilih 2 buku yang berkenaan? Saya pilih Sycamore Row sebab buku tu sequel kepada novel John Grisham yang saya pernah baca sebelum ni dan novel tersebut memang memberi kesan yang mendalam kepada saya. Ceritanya berkisar tentang racism antara orang kulit putih dan hitam di Amerika dalam latar tahun 80'an. Sycamore Row mengisahkan tentang seorang lelaki kulit putih bernama Seth Hubbard yang mati dengan meninggalkan harta pusakanya kepada pembantu rumahnya bernama Lettie Lang yang daripada kaum kulit hitam. Hero cerita ni, Jake Brigance pula berperanan sebagai peguam untuk execute wasiat tersebut dan pastilah banyak tentang yang dihadapi sebab anak-anak mendiang dinafikan terus hak mereka untuk mewarisi harta. Dengan konflik antara kaum yang merupakan topik sensitif pada zaman tersebut, banyaklah drama dan peristiwa yang mengancam nyawa berlaku. Secara dasarnya novel ni menceritakan kesukaran yang dihadapi untuk memastikan semua orang gembira. Dan yang menjadi misterinya, kenapa Seth Hubbard ambil keputusan yang drastik sebegitu? Apa sebenarnya hubungan dia dengan pembantu rumah dia? Adakah dia gila? Haha...oleh kerana takzabar nak tau motif dia, saya melompat ke halaman yang belakang-belakang untuk mengetahuinya. Yelah, saya cukup malas nak baca part jury selection process. Saya tak berapa minat nak bace...sama macam A Time to Kill dulu. Saya skip je part jury.

Pendapat peribadi saya berkenaan Sycamore Row...hmmm... biasa-biasa aje jika nak dibandingkan dengan A Time to Kill..

Ok untuk buku kedua..Reasons She Goes to the Woods. Saya agak lambat sikit mula membaca buku ni. Bukan apa...bila buka mukasurat pertama...alahai...dia bahagikan seluruh novel ni kepada chapter-chapter pendek untuk setiap halaman. Maknanya....satu halaman satu chapter. Adeh...ni dah kenapa...mungkin orang lain boleh baca macam biasa tapi saya tak berapa nak feel membacanya. Ceritanya mengisahkan seorang kanak-kanak yang bermasalah. Mental problem kot tapi dari gaya penceritaannya seolah-olah dia tak sedar dia mental. Mungkin penyakit dia diwarisi daripada ibu dia sebab ada chapter yang menceritakan perihal kelakukan ibunya yang pelik seperti sengaja mensuffocate anak bongsu dia. Yang kanak-kanak ni pulak suka benar membuli dan menyeksa kawan-kawan dia. Dan yang paling tak best ialah kanak-kanak ni seolah-olah menyalahtafsirkan kasih sayang bapanya kepadanya seperti kasih sayang antara kekasih.. Adehh...macam-macam la kisah masyarakat omputeh nih.. Pendapat peribadi saya...saya tak suka buku nih. Mungkin saya akan jual atau derma kat mana-mana nanti.

UPDATED: SOLD! Preloved SPARCO F500K Car Seat

This is actually a late post. By the time I'm writing this, those car seats are already in their new owners' hands.

But I still want to write something about them. They deserve a little tribute, because we value them so much and we were actually kind of reluctant to let them go. See? I'm referring to them as if they are human beings..hahaha.. still can't shake the sad feeling though.

We bought the two of SPARCO F500K Children Car Seats in the year of 2012. Twins were around 9 months at that time and had already outgrown their baby carrier. I remembered googling myriads of online baby shops and finally stopped at MyBBStore. They were having sale and to see the numbers lesser than the original price (rm750), was like dream comes true! The nearest branch to us was the Kelana Jaya branch and right after work, my husband and I rushed to the destination fearing that the shop might close before we arrived..

Alhamdulillah, the rezki was ours. 

Traveling by car (with twins and without other family member or helper) had been easier with the car seats. I could tell that it was really good value for our money because the twins looks comfortable and slept soundly inside it. We used them all the time, even when going to the shop lots near our home, the playground nearby, nursery, everywhere. This is actually important if you want your child to get used to the seats, and knows that he/she should be sitting inside it, without us forcing them.

Time passed, and now our twins getting bigger and no longer needed the seats. Whilst for their younger sister, she has her own car seat from other brand, safely installed in mummy's car. My husband said that we should really thinking about selling the SPARCO car seats since they are still in excellent condition, we certainly do not want them collecting dust in the house.

So one night I advertised at Mudah.my. After that I went straight to bed. In the morning I was so surprised to see so many WhatsApp and SMS messages asking about the car seats and they were all serious buyers. 

I decided for the ones who confirmed first, and not for those who whatsapped/smsed first and not giving word of confirmation. Thus, we agreed upon a buyer who came from Bandar Seri Sendayan and another one from Gombak.

ATKINS FRIENDLY RECIPE - Tuna Patties

Another Atkins recipe that I've tried few times. Still loving how simple it is and how delicious it smells...hmmm!! Hahaha.. check the recipe out. I might have seen it from blogs somewhere but tweaked a little here and there according to what I have in the fridge at the moment.

ATKINS Tuna Patties

Ingredients:

A can of tuna (i opted for tuna chunks in water or olive oil), drain the water and oil.

1 egg

Onions, sliced and diced

White pepper

Coriander leaves or spring onions, chopped

Salt to taste

Butter

Method:

Mash all the tuna chunks and combine with egg and onions. Stir everything well in a bowl. Add in the pepper, salt and the leaves according to your taste. Form a small ball in your palm, making sure that they stick together. Flatten the ball a bit, again, according to your preference because some might love thin patty and some might like it thick. Place the patties on a non-stick pan with a little bit of melted butter. Cook until brown and then flip it over and cook the other side.

Serve with lettuce, cherry tomatoes, and kewpie mayo.
